THANK YOU!!!

for making an effort to observe & respect the Visitor Safety
Protocol which you can read at the Notice Board near the Visitor
Registration Office! Reminder signs have been painted in
Red/Yellow & Black/Yellow & put in place for your own safety.
Ensure that your guide observes AND respects these reminder signs.

RED/YELLOW -  Elements of danger exists here!
BLACK/YELLOW markings - DO NOT approach unless advised

Listen ONLY to the Staff OR Volunteer on duty!

The Sanctuary sometimes receive the odd & disrespectful visitors who arrive early and insist the staff to organise activities for them with the veiled threat of complaining to the media if their requests are not entertained.

External tour guides have also been heard providing either the wrong information OR out dated information to
their clients. You are strongly advised to double check with either the
Staff OR volunteers
on duty if you are
unsure of the information or explainations given by your own guides.

Do watch out for a very noisy indian guide that
sometimes come to the sanctuary - more often

than not, the information that he  provides to his
customers are either wrong or inconsistent!
If  you feel that he is  irritatingly noisy
- feel free to advise him to tone

down his voice!!
This particular
NON-MUSLIM guide also has a habit
of
NOT
advising his female clients of the need to
observe AND respect the attire requirements

for the water-based activities!

"
The best way to make the elephants feel comfortable while you are approaching or near them, call out their
name
in a most gentle and intonation way, while EITHER slowly  patting or scratching the backs
of their ears, run your palms over
their eyes gently OR use something small but hard, such as a key chain
and slowly scratch the area along the sides of their
backbones.
You could also bring orange, grape OR tamarind-flavoured sweets and gently rub it
against their tongue
before allowing them to swallow. "
- The Elephant Man

Please ask the Staff or Volunteer on duty if you wish to
approach ANY elephants before the scheduled activities begin.
The Staff or Volunteer on duty are the authorities in
charge here - NOT your guide!

RESPECTING signages are a MUST over here!
